Learn to Burn – Mobile Co.

New Dates June 6-10, 2022**
** First available burn day.
Participants will be given 2 days advance notice.

Details:
Attendees will experience this day long “start to finish”
prescribed burn. Up to twenty participants will be
accepted and assigned to crews. Each crew will be led by experienced, Alabama Certified Prescribed Burn
Managers. Participants will have access all day to
observe, ask questions, and gain EXPERIENCE with ignition and holding.

Requirements:
This is a live fire event in the field. Participants should expect to spend most of the day on their feet walking around the burn unit. Participants need to wear natural fiber clothing (jeans, long-sleeve cotton shirts, leather boots), no synthetic materials.

RETURNING PARTICIPANTS OLY: The Southeast Diabetes Faith Initiative (SDFI) helps participants achieve moderate weight loss by eating well and being active. SDFI is a yearlong program designed for people with prediabetes. It is also designed for people who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes and want to lower their risk.

Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for youth 18 and under.
For couples and families, the fee for an add-on registration is $20 per additional person.
Each registration includes a catered lunch from Chappy’s Deli and a one-year membership with the Alabama Water Watch Association.

*We are offering a 2-hour Green Infrastructure Tour in Auburn on Friday (6/10/22) at 2pm, but spaces are limited. See more details in the registration form.
