The Natural Shift: Converting from Loblolly or Slash to Longleaf over time.

In this workshop, attendees will be introduced to a concept of converting existing stands of loblolly or slash pine to longleaf using gap regeneration and underplanting. VCLLI: Southeast Diabetes Faith Initiative PreventT2

Online

The Southeast Diabetes Faith Initiative (SDFI) helps participants achieve moderate weight loss by eating well and being active. SDFI is a yearlong program designed for people with prediabetes. It is also designed for people who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes and want to lower their risk.
By the end of the first six months, the overall goal is to:
• Lose at least 5 to 7 percent of your starting weight.
• Get at least 150 minutes of physical activity each week.

By the end of the second six months, the goal is to:
• Keep off the weight you have lost.
• Keep working toward your weight goal.
• Continue getting at least 150 minutes of activity each week.

Upon completion, the trainer is a certified DEEP educator. As certified trainers, people can give back to their communities and work with people with prediabetes or diabetes and care providers. By extending the knowledge and skills necessary to reduce complications resulting from diabetes, the trainers provide a valuable service to members of their communities. The cost is $100.00 per trainer and is valid for 3 years. Auburn University CEUs are available (2.0 CEUs or 20 contact hours).
