Alabama Watershed Stewards (AWS) is a statewide science-based educational program that promotes healthy watersheds, increases understanding of water pollution, and provides the knowledge and tools needed to prevent and resolve local water quality problems. In this free, online self-paced course, you will increase your knowledge about the function of watersheds, their potential impairments, and local watershed protection strategies.

During the training participants will learn about:
-Watershed Systems: What they are and how they work
-Watershed Quality: Learn about water quantity and quality in Alabama.
-How you can improve watershed function
-Community driven watershed management

The course also includes practical and engaging tools for encouraging individuals to take leadership roles in improving their local water quality. CEU’s (0.7) are available for individuals who complete all course requirements.

The AWS program also offers in person training events, speciality workshops, and a variety of educational materials. To learn more contact stewards@auburn.edu or visit http://www.aces.edu/aws
