Installing Permeable Pavers

570 Devall Drive, Auburn University, 570 Devall Drive, Auburn University Auburn AL, 36849

In this one day training you will learn about permeable pavement design, construction, performance, and maintenance. Permeable pavement is considered a Low Impact Development (LID) initiative and can offer an aesthetic way to mimic natural hydrology by enabling stormwater to be treated onsite. By allowing the pavement system to function as an inlet to filter and distribute water into a subsurface storage system below, permeable pavement can improve groundwater recharge and reduce stormwater runoff from a site. This workshop is part of the Alabama Watershed Stewards program housed under the Auburn University Water Resource Center and is funded by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management and EPA Region 4 through a Clean Water Act 319(h) grant. This training is intended for permeable pavement installers and maintenance professionals, stormwater designers, professional engineers, professional landscape architects, municipal and county landscape personnel, as well as property managers and owners.
