Mental Health First Aid Training for Agriculture Professionals

Online

Farming is a demanding job filled with economic uncertainty, vulnerability to weather events, and long work hours, among other stressors. These stressors can lead to poor mental health if they are not managed appropriately. Many farmers are reluctant to seek help, which makes it difficult to help improve their mental well-being before a mental health crisis occurs. Vital is partnering with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System to provide Mental Health First Aid training to the agribusiness and industry professionals.Mental Health First Aid teachers you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use while providing you with the necessary tools to help someone developing a mental health or substance use problem. All participants will be required to complete a 2 hour class prior to the training. Register by April 16 by emailing Allie Logan, corcoja@aces.edu. Limited to 20 participants,
