Pine Bark Beetles of Alabama: Biology, Control, and Preventative Management Strategies

This webinar will discuss the individual pine bark beetles that we have in Alabama and across the southeastern United States and the implications that they have for forest landowners and forestry professionals. Species identification, control strategies, and preventative forest management prescriptions will be discussed in addition to forest harvesting techniques to reduce the likelihood of forest pest issues following timber harvesting operations.

The webinar series will feature basic, intermediate, and advanced video tutorials in a live webinar format to help volunteer monitors and the public navigate the various water quality data tools available on the AWW website.

This session will cover the following topics:

How to view basic map layers

How to view hydrologic unit code (HUC) watersheds

How to view the National Hydrography Dataset

How to view the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) 303(d) listed waterbodies

How to view the U.S. Geological Survey geology layer for Alabama
