Tuning into Kids

A six-session parenting program for parents
Would you like to learn how be better at talking with your child?
• be better at understanding your child?
• help your child learn to manage their emotions?
• help to prevent behaviour problems in your child?
• teach your child to deal with conflict?

Tuning in to Kids shows you how to help your child develop emotional intelligence. Children with higher emotional intelligence:
• have greater success with making and keeping friends
• have better concentration at school
• are more able to calm down when upset or angry
• tend to have fewer childhood illnesses

Virtual Food Preservation Workshop – Freezing

The Food Safety & Quality team is pleased to offer a food preservation series presented online using Zoom. Registration is open to the whole state. Each workshop in the series will include 1) zoom etiquette and use, 20 a lesson on a food preservation principles and 3) lice demonstrations o preservation techniques. Interaction during the demonstration is encouraged. Participants will learn about and watch processes for water bath canning for fruit, tomato and pickled products. In the second class the topics will be pressure canning for vegetables and meats and the third class will teach the best methods for freezing specific fruits & vegetables . Pre- and post tests will be administered online in each workshop for program evaluation.

Alabama 4-H at AAMU Virtual Robotics Camp

Alabama 4-H at AAMU is hosting a Virtual Robotics Camp for youth ages 10-13! Come join the fun! You will learn how to use block coding to program a virtual robot. All you need is a laptop or tablet, Internet connection, and a positive attitude! Camp will take place every Wednesday in July from 1:00-2:00. Registration is required.
