Coffee County Master Gardener Course

Master Gardener Volunteer Training classes will be held each Wednesday at the Coffee County Ag Complex – Community Room taught by Auburn University and Extension Specialist, Regional Extension Agents, and Certified Master Gardeners. Subject matter includes: plant nutrition, plant id, turf grass, landscape management, landscape design, entomology, plant diseases, vegetable gardening, home fruit production, and more. Fifty hours of volunteer service is required to become a Certified Master Gardener.

SmartMap logoSmartMap 1.0 introduces audiences to low-cost and easy to use geospatial mapping applications (apps) that can be used on smartphones or ipads. The class introduces audiences to GIS, GPS, and Smartphone GIS applications. It provides hands-on tutorials to give attendees experience using these technologies. This workshop also introduces audiences to UAV technology and its applications for video capture and forest mapping.

Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Training

Breastfeeding is becoming increasingly more important to today’s parents. Many families are searching and comparing child care programs that are willing to support their decision to breastfeed and are educated on the best methods for feeding and caring for their infants.

This two-hour training will give you the knowledge you need to best support your breastfeeding families, as well as help you get started on your journey to becoming an Alabama Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care provider.

For this training each attendee will receive two professional development clock hours and a training certificate that is honored by DHR. These clock hours can be counted towards your yearly professional development hours.
There is NO CHARGE to attend this training, but registration is required.
