State 4-H Golden Egg Contest

Alabama 4-H Center

The 4-H Golden Egg Contest is designed to find the best dozen eggs in Alabama. Any 4-H member with chickens can participate. Members may enter a dozen white-shelled eggs, a dozen brown-shelled eggs, and a dozen blue/green-shelled eggs. Each dozen entered costs $5. Registration closes August 23 in 4HOnline.

Your eggs will be delivered to the competition by your 4-H agent. Contact your 4-H agent to find out when they need the eggs prior to their departure.

Coffee County Master Gardener Course

Master Gardener Volunteer Training classes will be held each Wednesday at the Coffee County Ag Complex – Community Room taught by Auburn University and Extension Specialist, Regional Extension Agents, and Certified Master Gardeners. Subject matter includes: plant nutrition, plant id, turf grass, landscape management, landscape design, entomology, plant diseases, vegetable gardening, home fruit production, and more. Fifty hours of volunteer service is required to become a Certified Master Gardener.
