Alabama Watershed Steward Training in Pepperell Branch Watershed (Opelika, AL)

1001 Andreews Road, 1001 Andrews Road Opelika AL, 36801

A watershed is an area of land through which rainwater drains by flowing across, through, or under the soil surface to a common low point, typically a stream, river, lake, or ocean. Stewardship means taking the responsibility to care for the well-being of something that is valued. Watershed stewardship is for everyone and all are welcome, we all live in a watershed and depend on its valuable resources. Join us to learn more about protecting and restoring Alabama’s resources including our abundant water resources ranging from fast-flowing mountain streams to large, lazy rivers to picturesque coastlines.

The Alabama Watershed Stewards (AWS) is a science-based educational program that promotes healthy watersheds, increases understanding of water pollution, and provides the knowledge and tools needed to prevent and resolve local water quality problems.

More information can be found online. For Questions please contact Nikki Dictson at ndictson@auburn.edu or 979-575-4424.
