Job Summary

Provide leadership in developing and implementing educational programs in the area of animal health, with an emphasis on small ruminants. Prepare and distribute bulletins, phamplets, fact sheets, papers, visual aids, radio/news releases and magazine articles. Provide assistance to other Extension Specialists in incorporating animal health subject matter into their educational programs. Programs are carried out by working with and through County Extension Offices, practicing veterinarians, livestock producers, agribusiness leaders, researchers and others interested in the health of livestock. Keep well informed of all animal health activities and cooperate with the State and National Veterinary Medical Associations, the School of Veterinary Medicine, and other agencies and organizations in the promotion of educational programs related to animal health.
