Guidelines


Personal Qualities of Participants

  • Be dependable, reliable, supportive, and committed.
  • Be responsible, answerable, and accountable for all your actions.
  • Have a positive attitude. Be confident and assured in yourself and your abilities.
  • Display a willingness to learn. Readily and cheerfully accept assignments and responsibilities.
  • Be trustworthy. Respect confidentially. Complete assignments/jobs on time. Return borrowed items.
  • Show initiative. Be a self-starter. Don't be afraid to take the first step.
  • Have a sense of humor. Be able to conservatively appreciate and understand things that are funny or amusing at times.
  • Be open-minded to new ideas, free from prejudices or biases.
  • Be friendly and cooperative.
  • Show self-discipline by controlling your own desires, actions, and habits.

Social Qualities of Participants

  • Be able to cooperate and get along with others.
  • Be a team player by interacting well in group settings.
  • Show sensitivity toward other's feelings.
  • Demonstrate patience with others.

Necessary Communication Skills

  • Follow directions and carry them out once given.
  • Listen well to others and take instructions. If you do not understand, ASK!
  • Listen and convey information intelligently.
  • Display a professional attitude.

Professionalism

  • Dress Code: no halters, t-straps, or tube tops; no tummy exposure, flip flops, pants blow the waist, outside shirts; no inappropriate hats, shirts, mini-skirts, or hot pants.
  • No hats or garments that display inappropriate words/slang/gestures/pictures/advertisement.
  • No foul language.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Completing tasks.
  • Reporting to volunteer work assignments on time.
  • Following directions.
  • Getting along with others and being a team player.
  • Personal appearance.
