WHAT ARE WE?

"Facts on Families" is a quarterly profile and an annual report that presents data on social and economic indicators for families in Alabama's MSAs. Believing in the old adage, "knowledge is power" Facts on Families will empower you with:

  • New insights
  • Keener awareness
  • Critical understandings
  • Focused vision
  • Foresight for emerging issues facing MSA families.

Through the assemblage, synthesis, and interpretation of data on social and economic indicators, you will have access to user friendly data sets on important family issues. With the data that you will find in each quarterly and annual report, you will be able to:

  • Support grant applications with sound statistical data
  • Support advocacy for new programs and initiatives
  • Document change for indicators associated with family status
  • Design program interventions that are timely and justifiable
  • Monitor trends and emerging issues

This tool will become a daily resource for your use.

While a picture is worth a thousand words, saying "it with numbers" diminishes uncertainty, quantifies the size, delineates the dimensions, and exposes the magnitude of issues, challenges, problems and opportunities for families in Alabama's MSAs.
