  • Sustainable Meat Goat Production Basic Training Workshop; Friday, May 30, 2014. Location: Millennium Maxwell House Hotel, 2025 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37228.Join the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and the Tennessee State University’s College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences for the First Sustainable Meat Goat Production Basic Training Workshop on May 30, 2014. The Basic Training Workshop is designed to introduce sustainable meat goat production practices to African-Americans, Latinos, women and other minority landowners.
    Agricultural experts will provide research-based information on goat breeds and genetics, herd health, reproduction processes, pasture management, marketing meat goats, and other herd management practices. As a result of attending this basic training, minority landowners will not only learn sustainable meat goat production practices, but join the increasing number of small farmers and producers that are working to satisfy the growing consumer demand for meat goat products in America.
