National Preparedness Month is an observance each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time.

What to do After the Disaster Hits

Discover recovery and relief services are available to aid individuals and families affected by disasters. American Red Cross services assist by
• offering the steps to take during and after most disasters or emergencies to help ensure your family’s safety and
• providing important information on how to manage the financial impact of disaster, from handling insurance claims to replacing vital documents that may have been lost.
