Public Service Awards Nomination

The 2008 Distinguished Public Service Awards will be presented
on October 16, 2008, to recognize outstanding individuals and
groups who unselfishly assist others, especially those living
in under-served, high-risk communities in Alabama.
Six awards to be presented as follows:
- Individual Awards
- Visionary Leadership Award: A person who has implemented unique and progressive
idea
- Courage Award:
A person that has overcome tremendous obstacles (economic, social,
etc.)
- Grass Roots Award: Represents a community's unsung hero
- Role Model Award: A person that leads by example; guides youth
toward worthy goals
- It Takes a Village Award: Has impacted a community; motivates others
to act
- Organization Award: An organization that has far-reaching community
impact, organized a tax exempt-501(c) 3 organization, reached
numerous youth or adults, has a functioning board, paid/volunteer
staff
