Chainsaws are an effective habitat management tool. However, they do pose operational risks and hazards that should be recognized and understood.  Although no practice can entirely limit the risks associated with chainsaws, following recommended safety guidelines and using approved personal protective equipment can effectively reduce the risk of injury.
