Thoughts from Bertie

I hope to learn more about Alabama Extension during this internship. I have very little experience with Extension, so my goal is to become as involved as I can during the course of this internship. I look forward to learning all that Extension has to offer. I also hope to connect with professionals from a variety of different focuses. What interests me most about working with Alabama Extension is becoming more involved in 4-H. I love the opportunity to help put on events and competitions for 4-H members to showcase all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. I have enjoyed learning how much work goes into the events that 4-H hosts, and I love seeing how meaningful the 4-H program is to students in Alabama. I was never a member of 4-H, and I love seeing all the programs and opportunities offered to students and members.

Specific skills and goals that I want to build upon this summer are my professional skills. While attending events, I want to connect with as many people as possible in order to learn more about the operations within Extension and 4-H. I would also like to improve my time management and organizational skills. I am grateful for this opportunity to work with Alabama Extension and look forward to becoming for involved in 4-H.
