Alabama Extension Assistant Director for Field Operations Lee Ann Clark was recently recognized with the DAR Conservation Award. Clark received the recognition from the Josiah Brunson Chapter of the National Society of the DAR, which is based in Trussville, Alabama.
“I’m truly honored to receive the DAR Conservation Award,” Clark said. “Serving the citizens of St. Clair County through Cooperative Extension has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career. This recognition reflects the importance of community-based education and the impact we can make when we work together to promote conservation and sustainable living.”
The DAR Conservation Award is presented to someone who has a substantial track record of sustained conservation efforts that include improving the environment and educating others.
According to a news release, members of the DAR chapter said, “Clark has made a tremendous impact on environmental stewardship through education and outreach and has empowered youth and adults to make wise decisions about natural resources, agriculture and sustainable living through education, leadership and community engagement.”
As an Assistant Director for Field Operations in the Central Area, Clark works alongside county Extension directors to guide programming efforts for Autauga, Bibb, Chilton, Elmore, Jefferson, Lowndes, Montgomery, St. Clair and Shelby counties.
