New & Beginning Recreational/Forest Landowner Workshop
Northeast Alabama Community College, 138 AL-35, Rainsville, AL 35986
Recreational landowner’s often have multiple management goals for their property and with these come tradeoffs towards achieving and balancing wildlife and timber production. Understanding the services and resources available, timber management, and techniques to enhance the deer, turkey, and other wildlife habitat is important to many new and long-standing forest owners. Local agencies and businesses and agents with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System are here to help along the way. These topics will be discussed at the New & Beginning Recreational Forest Landowner Workshop hosted by the Jackson County Natural Resources Planing Committee on Tuesday, October 22nd from 8:45 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Northeast Alabama Community College’s Workforce Development Building (Rm. 132), 138 AL-35, Rainsville, AL 35986. Indoor presentations will outline considerations that guide management and business decisions for many forested recreational properties. Additionally, this program will allow for attendees to ask questions related directly to their goals and property. Participants must pre-register by visiting http://www.aces.edu/go/4458. Registration includes a seat at the presentations, lunch, and printed materials. For questions, contact the Jackson County Extension Office at 256-574-2143.
