Season 6 Episode 14 — Cotton Crop Conversation
In this episode of the Alabama Crops Report, Scott Graham, Josh Lee, and Chandler Gruener sit down for a cotton crop conversation and discuss the latest on cotton in Alabama, such as pests, IPM management, PGR management, potassium, and foliar nitrogen. The group has found generally that when they are out in the fields, there hasn’t been too much of a pest problem recently.
“Right now, I feel like we’re in really good shape on the insect front.” — Scott Graham
PGR management is a recurring theme as more people look for efficient pesticides and management techniques.
“With these late planted cottons, we do need to be a little bit more aggressive on our plant growth regulators. And one of the main reasons why is that PGR aggressiveness can increase our earliness, so we’re able to produce that crop for several days, up to a week.” — Josh lee
