On this episode of the Alabama Crops Report Podcast, hosts Scott Graham and Simer Virk talk about Alabama field conditions with agronomic crops Extension agents Blake Lanton, Cade Grace, and Eddie McGriff. They are joined by Ron Smith, longtime Alabama Extension cotton entomologist. The group talks about hurdles farmers are facing as June draws to a close. While some portions of the state have enjoyed fair amounts of rain and have been able to dodge heavy prolonged rain, Alabama farmers in the northern and western parts of the state have a different reality. Rain continues, planting is stalled, and producers are making difficult management decisions as the growing season progresses.
