Winston County Forestry Field Day

Natural Bridge hiking trail, 7202 County Road 63, Double Springs, AL 35553

We will host a forestry/landowner field day at the Natural Bridge Hiking Trail and a private landowner’s farm in Houston, AL in Winston County. The event will highlight Southern Pine Beetles (SPB), with a Pine beetle update, loblolly replacement options, Clearcut – conversion to wildlife opening, oak savannah management, Native American heritage, and bluff shelters – do’s and don’ts. Partners include Winston County Natural Resources Council, Alabama Forestry Commission, Alabama Forestry Association, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Winston County Soil and Water District, USDA NRCS, USDA Forest Service, and others.
