CHAMBERS COUNTY WELL WATER QUALITY MEETING – NOVEMBER 11, 2024 @ 10 AM CST

Training Description:

Well owners in Chambers County, AL, and the surrounding areas are invited to a free informational meeting to learn about well water quality. This event is offered in partnership with Dr. Ann Ojeda & Dr. Linda Gibson-Young from Auburn University. A free educational bacteria screening is available to participants.

Attend this workshop and learn about the following:
the geology of Alabama
how geology may impact water quality,
how contamination may travel through the ground, and
about well water testing in Alabama

If you are having specific mechanical issues with your well system, you will also be given contacts for treatment specialists and certified well/pump installers in the area. We will spend the majority of the time discussing water quality topics about well water.

A free educational bacteria screening is available to the first 20 registrants who pick up sample bottles. Supplies are limited and only 20 bottles are available.

The Alabama Cooperative Extension System – Alabama Private Well Program (APWP) is an educational resource available to private well owners throughout Alabama. We want to learn about your groundwater to better understand risks and develop resources to help you maintain your well water quality. Workshop attendees can speak directly with water researchers and APWP staff.
