The Alabama 4-H Science School prides itself in providing a high-quality environmental education experience through adventure, outdoor education, and science classes. The school proudly serves a wide variety of students in K–12 school groups, college students, or private groups. Overall, the Alabama 4-H Science School reaches approximately 23,500 young people each year, with 5,000 of those being reached at the Alabama 4-H Center. These young people come from all over Alabama, as well as Georgia, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

Programs

The Alabama 4-H Science School outreach programs (Herp Journey and Raptor Trek) reach about 17,000 people each year. These outreach programs travel to several counties in Alabama and one county in Mississippi.

The Alabama 4-H Center Summer Camp program reaches approximately 1,500 youth. A total of 65 counties participate in camp during June. Recently added, a ninth session in July was added to expand the number of youth able to participate in the summer camp experience.

Whether challenging your feats of courage on the high ropes course, exploring wildlife on the Coosa River in a canoeing class, or meeting some of the school’s animal ambassadors, the Alabama 4-H Science School provides a safe environment to grow and explore over 200 acres of forests, trails, and waterfront.
