  • Low in calories and sodium.
  • Contains lycopene, which supports heart health.

  • Made of mostly water, making it a hydrating snack. 

 How to Store 

  • Store whole at room temperature for 7 to 10 days.
  • After cutting, can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days, either in a container or by covering the surface with plastic wrap. 

 How to Prepare 

  • Wash and dry.
  • Slice into triangles, cut into half circle or chunks, or scoop into melon balls. 

 How to Enjoy 

  • Serve fresh as a snack.
  • Add to smoothies or salsas.
  • Juice into a refreshing beverage.
  • Freeze into ice cubes and add to water.
  • Grill for a savory treat.

Recipes 

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa 

Ingredients 

  • 3 cups watermelon, diced 
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice 
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped 
  • 2 tablespoons green onion, chopped 
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh jalapeño, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced 

Directions

  • Combine lime juice, cilantro, green onion, and jalapeño in a small glass bowl and stir to mix. 
  • Add bell peppers and watermelon and stir gently.  
  • Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. 

Watermelon Juice Juiced Watermelon

Ingredients 

  • 1 seedless watermelon
  • Ice

Directions

  • Chop watermelon and place in a blender. 
  • Blend watermelon well until juice is smooth. 
  • Strain to remove the pulp, if desired.
  • Serve over ice. 

Watermelon with Lime and Chili Powder 

Ingredients  

  • 2 cups watermelon, seeded and cubed 
  • 1/2 lime, juiced 
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)

Directions

  • In a serving bowl, squeeze lime juice over watermelon cubes. 
  • Sprinkle with chili powder and salt.
