- Store unripe peaches at room temperature.
- Store ripe peaches in the refrigerator and use within 5 days.
- Peaches may be stored in the freezer for 12 months.
How to Prepare
- Wash and dry.
- Cut in half and remove the pit.
- Slice into wedges or chunks.
- Dip slices in lemon juice after cutting to avoid them turning dark.
- Dip whole peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds. Transfer quickly to cold water. Easily remove peel with a knife.

Peach Cooler
Ingredients
- 2 cups reduced-fat milk
- 1 cup fresh peaches, sliced or 1 cup peaches, canned in 100 percent juice and drained
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- A dash of nutmeg (optional)
Directions
- Put all ingredients in a blender and blend well.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired, and serve.
Tomato Peach Salsa
Ingredients
- 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup peaches, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, julienned (cut into long, thing strips)
- 2 tablespoons red onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced (optional for spice)
Directions
- Combine tomatoes, onions, and peaches in a mixing bowl.
- Toss with basil and lime juice and serve. Pairs well with a grilled chicken breast or salmon fillet.
