The Extension Implementation Program (EIP) is a mature, interdisciplinary training and education program conduct through the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Initiated in 2010, this project is supported through grants from the USDA NIFA Crop Protection and Pest Management Program.

Since the beginning, the program has built capacity in Alabama to facilitate the implementation and adoption of economically and environmentally sound integrated pest management (IPM) practices. EIP has five program areas that operate complementary to existing teams in Alabama Extension. These areas include agronomic crops, speciality crops, pest diagnostics, pollinators, and urban housing.

Resources

To learn more about what EIP offers, check out their abundant resources ranging from preventing roach infestations and beekeeping to slug management in vegetables. Educational videos, webinars, and publications are provided as resources to help people implement IPM practices throughout the state.
