ESPA is a professional development organization composed of support, administrative, and professional personnel of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.

Objectives

• Foster and recognize exemplary professional work by Extension support staff.
• Promote cooperation and understanding among Extension staff.
• Provide a forum for communication and express common needs and goals of the members of the Association.
• Provide a mechanism for maintaining and improving relationships with other professional organizations.
• Perform any other service for the benefit of its members that may be mutually agreeable.

Executive Committee, an appointed chair of each of the 6 standing committees, and an elected representative for each county set.

Members

Support personnel who voluntarily pay association dues annually.

The Association meets once annually, the first Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (after Mother’s Day) in May. Awards are given during this time. Board meetings are held annually designated by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee.

Membership

Active membership shall be voluntary and available to all support staff of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System that are budgeted for full-time employment as well as twelve-month, part-time employees with benefits. Annual dues in the amount of $20 ($10 for retirees) shall be due on or before June 1. For current members, if dues are received after July 31, a $10 fee will be assessed. This does not apply to new members.
