blueberries
Shane Harris and Chip East with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System provide information on pruning rabbiteye blueberries. Growers should prune blueberries to:
  • stimulate new growth and plant vigor
  • remove dead or diseased wood
  • reduce the fruit load to make berries larger
  • keep plants a manageable size for harvesting
  • provide air movement inside the canopy to reduce disease problems
