Annie Dee in a corn field. Soil Health Stewards

Annie Dee discusses soil health stewardship. Dee runs Dee River Ranch with brother, Mike Dee, in Aliceville, Alabama in Pickens County. The family farm has been operating for more than 25 years.

Dee said they began using cover crops on all of their crop land in the early ’90s. Early on, wheat was the primary cover crop; but in the early 2000s Dee began using cover crop mixtures.
