AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. — When Alabamians have a question, the internet can provide thousands of answers. But when they want an answer they can trust, Alabama Extension is ready with something different: a real person who knows.

Alabama Extension has released a new television commercial highlighting the organization’s research-based expertise and its commitment to providing practical information Alabamians can use in their homes, gardens, farms and communities.

The 30-second spot opens with a series of familiar questions: What’s wrong with my garden? How can I improve my pasture? And, perhaps most urgently, “What is that bug on the patio?”

The answer is simple: Ask a real person who knows.

“People have more information at their fingertips than ever before, but having information isn’t the same as having the right information,” said Mike Clardy, director of Alabama Extension Communications, Strategic Marketing and Client Relations. “This commercial reminds people that Alabama Extension has real experts throughout the state who understand Alabama and can provide research-based answers to the questions that matter in everyday life.”

The commercial is part of Alabama Extension’s ongoing “Alabama Extension Does That” campaign, which showcases the breadth of Extension’s work and the expertise available through its statewide network.

“Alabama Extension is here to help, whether you’re trying to grow something in your backyard, manage a farm, help your family thrive or improve your community,” said Eve Brantley, director of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. “Our experts take university knowledge and make it useful, practical and accessible for people across Alabama.”

The commercial encourages viewers to turn to Alabama Extension for trusted, science-based information from experts who live and work in the communities they serve.
