Landon Marks, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System County Extension Director for Cherokee County, has been named to the Alabama Leadership Initiative (ALI) Class of 2024-2025. Marks joins 56 peers from across the state as a member of the seventh ALI class.
“I feel honored to be selected for the Alabama Leadership Initiative Class VII and I am eager to connect with other passionate leaders across the state who are motivated to move the state forward,” Marks said. “This networking opportunity will allow me to gain insight into what motivates different industry leaders to better facilitate learning opportunities for citizens of Alabama.”
According to their website, Leadership Alabama provides established leaders across Alabama exposure to the broader fabric of the state. The program helps members develop a network of relationships and provides a structure for seeking mutual understanding of problems and priorities for Alabama’s future. Leadership Alabama encourages its members to act — individually and together — to move Alabama forward.
“The Alabama Leadership Initiative is known for pushing participants of their box and learning key skills needed to be a successful leader in today’s world,” Marks said.
The ALI program is a six-month program comprised of three, two-day sessions to offer young professionals the opportunity to develop personal leadership skills and establish ongoing relationships with other young leaders across the state.
