Congratulations to Austin Blankenship, an Alabama Extension 4-H agent in Lawrence County, on being named second runner-up in the Alabama Farmers Federation’s annual Excellence in Agriculture contest. Blankenship was recognized for this achievement Aug. 16. during the Federation’s Farm and Land Conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Excellence in Agriculture contest is for members who are 18 to 35 years old and receive most of their income off farm. Blankenship was judged based on an intense application and presentation. He received custom Adirondack chairs courtesy of the Federation.
