About Us
The Alabama Association of Natural Resources Extension Professionals recently honored several Alabama Extension professionals and partners for their contributions this past year. AL ANREP is a small but growing chapter with participation from Extension colleagues across numerous program teams conducting natural resource-related work. At the organization’s annual conference — held Aug. 14-15 in Anniston, Alabama — special recognitions for outstanding Extension work was awarded to the following teams and individuals:

- Outstanding Youth Education Program
- Vanessa Roberts — DeKalb County 4-H Outdoor Adventure Club

- Outstanding Adult Education Program winners Norm Haley and Kerry Steedley

The organization also award the Friends of AL ANREP Service Award to the Alabama State Parks Education and Interpretation Section. Recognized parks include Lakepoint, Lake Guntersville, Meaher, Chewacla, Cathedral Caverns, Desoto, Monte Sano, Oak Mountain, Joe Wheeler, Rickwood Caverns, Wind Creek, Cheaha and Gulf State Parks, in partnership with the Alabama Master Naturalist Program.
ANREP is a national association for Extension professionals working in environmental education, fisheries, forestry, wood sciences, range, recreation, waste management, water, wildlife, energy and related disciplines. National conferences are offered biennially, while the state chapter hosts annual meetings. The mission of AL ANREP is to advance the professional status, public service and interdisciplinary collaboration of Alabama Extension educators and faculty. This is accomplished by encouraging regular sharing of successes in natural resource education and continuing self-improvement pertaining to knowledge, skills and practices.
