ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSITY, Ala. — Alabama 4-H youth were among the 3,000 participants for the 2023 High School and Community College Day at Alabama A&M University (AAMU). The event was coordinated by AAMU’s Undergraduate Admissions Office and held at the new Event Center.

Students throughout the state got a chance to apply to AAMU, tour the campus and audition for the Maroon and White Marching Band. In addition, they enjoyed a free lunch and attended the football game between the AAMU Bulldogs and the Florida A&M University Rattlers.

Special Guests

Youth from Alabama 4-H at AAMU were also special guests of the athletics department. At halftime, they were acknowledged on the field for their contributions to 4-H.

“An event such as High School and Community College Day plays a significant role in nurturing vital life skills that can benefit young people in their future personal and professional endeavors,” said 4-H Youth Development Specialist Angela Williams. “The exposure to postsecondary education is crucial to the positive development of youth.”
