The Alabama Farmers Federation honors Scott Graham, Alabama Extension specialist, with the Rittenour Award at the annual Farm and Land Conference in Mobile, Ala. This award honors his dedication to research and Alabama’s cotton farmers.
As a cotton entomologist at Auburn University, Graham’s research trials have been focused on cotton jassid. Between frequent farm visits, evolving spray recommendations and presentations around the Cotton Belt, his goal is always to help farmers make the best educated decisions.
“It is an honor to receive this recognition from the farmers of Alabama,” Graham said. “All of the research and Extension work we did would not have been possible without the help of the students in my program, our Extension agents, consultants and field advisors and the farmers that allowed us to do research on their farms.”
Graham plans to use the Rittenour Award’s $10,000 prize to fund more travels to fields and farms in the coming year.
