Register now for the Town Creek Tributary Stream Restoration Workshop Series -- Each workshop is limited to the first 35 registrants. Attendance at all workshops in the series is not mandatory. Workshops will be held in Auburn, Alabama.

Workshop participants will receive CEUs from Auburn University.

Stream restoration and mitigation requirements are moving more and more towards natural channel design techniques. This workshop series will follow a stream restoration project on an urban tributary located in Town Creek Park, City of Auburn.

Introductory and advanced workshops will cover stream restoration using natural channel design. Time will be split between classroom and extensive field work, including project / data summaries and evening work sessions.

The workshop will center on Town Creek Tributary, a degraded urban stream flowing through the City of Auburn's Town Creek Park. Greg Jennings, Ph.D., P.E. of North Carolina State University will emphasize urban stream conditions specific to the southeastern U.S. Workshop instructors have experience working on more than 40 stream assessments and restoration projects throughout the Southeast. Each participant will receive a reference manual.

Stream Morphology Assessment September 20-21, 2007

This workshop will teach principles of stream channel and floodplain formation, interactions of morphology and biology, and field measurements of stream dimension, pattern, and profile. Participants will collect and analyze stream morphology and stability data in an urban stream that is scheduled for restoration in 2008.

Location
