Join us for the Watershed Academy: Principles of Water Quality Monitoring, Planning and Restoration -- Space is limited to the first 30 registrants.

Workshop will be at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina, nestled in one of the most beautiful natural settings in the United States.

Workshop Description

Participants will learn how to apply water quality and watershed management principles to understand and solve complex water resource problems. Instructors will use case studies, field trips, and group assignments to teach about water quality assessment and watershed management approaches, including conservation, protection, and restoration.

Skills gained at this workshop will improve students’ ability to identify problems and solutions for their local watersheds. This is not for the faint of heart! The Academy will mix hard work and analysis with plenty of free time to enjoy autumn in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.

Who should attend?

The Watershed Academy is designed for Extension professionals, local government officials, local watershed coordinators, project managers, consultants, and agency representatives who can benefit from a thorough scientific understanding of watershed processes, assessment, and techniques for protecting and conserving natural resources.
