As part of the Smart Growth Initiative begun at the conference in March and the workshop in July, Healthy Coastal Communities Initiatives is offering a workshop for builders and developers on Green Building.

Stephen Guesman of GreenWorks Design / Build of Blountsville, Alabama will give an introduction to Green Building and an economic overview of 'Why build green?' He will also give an interactive how- to presentation on building resource efficient homes.

Charlene LeBleu from the Auburn University Department of Landscape Architecture will present innovative landscaping practices to handle storm water at construction sites.

Builders and developers are invited to attend all or part of the sessions offered above. Registration fees of $10 will be charged for the whole workshop whether you attend one or all sessions.

Registration begins at 8am and workshop begins at 8:30am. Refreshments will be available.

Workshop has been approved for .3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Auburn University.
