- Digital Soils Data -

The following lists give you access to electronic Soils data. All soils information is in vector format that uses joined and linked databases to complete the description of the soil map unit.

There are two types of soils data distributed here:

  1. STATSGO -- Statewide Soil Association data. One dataset covers all of Alabama.
  2. SSURGO -- County level soil surveys (Order 2 surveys). Avaliable for 57 of the 67 counties.
  • If you want a tabular listing of SSURGO soil surveys by county select Tabular Listing.
  • If you want a display of counties that have complete SSURGO data, select Map Graphic.
  • If you want to the whole state of STATSGO data, select STATSGO.
