We have provided the Question and the Answer to the FAQ that you requested!

QUESTION:
Are there special video cameras that can be used to inspect the interior of a well and is such an inspection worthwhile?
ANSWER:
Yes and Yes, especially if well capacity or quality has suddenly changed. Cable connected cameras are now available that can be used to inspect interior well condition above and below the water surface. Seeps or leaks through the casing due to cracks or corrosion will be evident. Incrustations and slimes on the bore hole, well screen or pump can be viewed in color on the above ground monitor. Color is often a good indicator of different types of biofouling that could be related to either oxidative or reductive conditions. Video monitoring can indicate exactly where to use a brush and basket sampler to collect deposits or water samples for further analysis.
