QUESTION:  
I leave the water running while I'm brushing my teeth. Does that waste much water?
ANSWER:  
Yes it does. This is a bad habit, because about 2 to 4 gallons of water per minute go down the drain needlessly every time you brush. Turning off the water when you're not using it will save water and save you money. Another way many people unthinkingly waste water is to run water until it is hot enough for a shower or bath or to wash dishes. Catching this water to use for plant watering is a good conservation tip.
