Alabama Cattlemen's Association

A Statewide referendum of cattle owners will take place on October 24th,2018 to determine the continuous of the Alabama State Beef checkoff. The ACA is responsible for conducting the referendum and will do so with the participation of each county cattlemen's chapter. They will be responsible for the staffing and voting area, ballots, certifying and reporting results to our office Stop By "Check Yes" and vote at Butler County Extension Office .

Master Gardener Volunteer Training

Master Gardener Volunteer Training classes will be held each Wednesday at the Dale County Extension Office taught by Auburn University and Extension Specialist, Regional Extension Agents, and Certified Master Gardeners. Subject matter includes: plant nutrition, plant id, turf grass, landscape management, landscape design, entomology, plant diseases, vegetable gardening, home fruit production, and more. Fifty hours of volunteer service is required to become a Certified Master Gardener. Cost of the course is $135 by August 1st, after which price increases to $150.
