Dear ACESEO Members and Prospective Members,


You are in store for a delightful time at the 49th Annual Meeting of the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service Employees Organization, Inc. in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama.  The Fairfield Inn and Suites By Marriott, conveniently located at 3111 Loop Road, Orange Beach, Alabama is our host hotel. This year’s meeting theme is “Surfing into the Future with ACESEO”. Mark your calendar now for May 10-12, 2017, and make plans to hear inspirational speakers, attend the Awards Luncheon, participate in workshops and educational tours, celebrate our ACESEO alumni, and enjoy camaraderie at its best.


Room reservations can be made directly with The Fairfield Inn and Suites By Marriott. Telephone 251-543-4444 and inform the receptionist that you are with the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service Employees Organization Group and reference the Group Block Code of ACEG. Standard rooms with two queen beds have been reserved at a rate of $99.00 plus tax, per night, per room.  Suite rooms with two queen beds have been reserved at a rate of $129.00 plus tax, per night, per room. This block of rooms will be held until April 20, 2017. Hotel guests will also enjoy complimentary hot breakfast each morning in the hotel dining area.


Pre-registration for Early Birds is $100.00. Late registration will be an additional $20.00, if postmarked after April 20, 2017.


The Annual Meeting will officially begin on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 with greetings from local dignitaries and a presentation by an awesome motivational speaker.  The State of the Association Address, voting for new officers, mini presentations on innovation in Extension programming, District Meetings, and First Timer’s Orientation will round out the day.  The Hospitality Room will officially open with light refreshments at 5:30 p.m. Afterwards, everyone is on their own to enjoy and discover Orange Beach and the surrounding Baldwin County area.


Thursday, May 11, 2017 is the second day of the conference.  The day will begin with the business meeting and a morning workshop. The Awards Luncheon and Installation of Officers will be held midday with Dr. Paul Brown, Associate Director, speaker.  Dr. Brown will provide an Extension update this year due to Dr. Gary Lemme, Extension Director, having a scheduling conflict. On Thursday evening, members are invited to change into comfortable clothes and shoes as we experience an unforgettable Dolphin Cruise. The ACESEO Alumni recognition program will also be held on Thursday evening. We will enjoy the sights and sounds of the Dolphin Cruise, feast on a low country shrimp boil, recognize ACESEO alumni and network together.


On Friday, May 12, 2017, we will receive a “send-off” from a capnote speaker, conduct the final business meeting, and receive a “golden invite” to the 50th 2018 Annual Meeting.


Remember to wear your official ACESEO nametag.  In addition, we ask that you please donate an item or two for this year’s scholarship auction and bring door prizes which will be given out over the duration of our annual meeting. This always adds lots of fun and excitement!
