Marshall County Beef Club is Growing!
According to the 2011 Alabama Agricultural Statistics published by NASS Agriculture County and the USDA, Marshall County is the number four beef producing county in the state with more than 39,000 head of beef cattle. As on e of the top Beef producing counties in the state, Marshall County is a prime location for a thriving 4-H Beef Club. However, over the past 15 years, there has been very little to no participation.
With the help of CEC, Chuck Howard, REA, Kristen Roberson and 4-H Volunteer, Brett Thrower, the club is growing!
The county recently participated in the Tennessee Valley Junior Beef Expo for the first time in many years! More importantly, these 4-H youth are learning how to master the care of and upbringing of their animals along with learning the health and nutrition of other livestock species.
