SUMMARY:Beekeeping Skills - Regional Queen Rearing Workshop - AU-Bees Lab 4/26
DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Alabama was a queen production hub back in the days? Our state offers great climatic conditions for successful queen production early in the beekeeping season. Join us for a regional workshop to learn about how to produce queens through grafting. \nOur goal is for you to develop the necessary beekeeping skills to produce high-quality queens\, for both your own operation and other beekeepers in Alabama. We invite you to a full day of learning and hands-on practice. \nWe will begin bright and early with presentations on the benefits of producing your own queens\, and successful techniques to do so. The afternoon will be spent in the apiary\, where you will have the chance to practice everything you heard in the morning. There is a $40 registration fee to cover copies of the “Queen rearing essentials” book by Lawrence J. Connor\, grafting tools and lunch. \nAddress:\nAU-Bees Lab\n952 Bee Lab Rd\nAuburn University\, AL 36849 \nContact:\nSelina Bruckner\nszb0130@auburn.edu\n(334) 329-2675 \nNote: Must have at least one year of beekeeping experience to attend the workshop. \nRegister Online
