Rain Garden Design Workshop

1751 Cong W L Dickinson Dr, Montgomery, AL 36107

Rain gardens are a part of stormwater management systems that can be both beautiful and functional. They are shallow, vegetated landscape depressions that slow water for a short time to provide stormwater infiltration, pollutant filtration, native plant habitat, and effective stormwater treatment for small-scale residential or commercial drainage areas. In this workshop you will learn the basics of rain garden site assessment and design, and will help the Crump Senior Center design their own rain garden.

Presentation material will cover:
What a rain garden is
Why install a rain garden
Site selection
Basics of plant selection and design
Designing a rain garden step by step with hands on activities
Participants will also receive a printed version of our ACES publications on rain garden design.
