Natural Resources Webinar Series -Managing Home and Community Landscapes with Wildfire in Mind

Many Southeastern states, including Alabama, have areas that are at risk to wildfire. Fortunately, there are ways residents and communities can reduce their wildfire risk. Based on Firewise USA guidelines, firescaping outlines specific landscape modifications, such as plant spacing and selection of low flammability plants, and maintenance activities that help reduce a home’s risk of ignition. This webinar will introduce participants to elements of firescape design and maintenance and also provide a brief overview of a free, comprehensive online firescaping course.
