Homesteading Basics – Prattville 5/16

Central Alabama Community College – Prattville Campus, 1320 Old Ridge Rd E, Prattville 36066

Join us for a day of learning about homesteading and extend your knowledge in various topics related to homesteading. This workshop is designed for homesteaders, beginner farmers, established farmers looking to diversify, horticulture enthusiasts, and everyone in between.

Topics will include Backyard Bees, Getting Started with Poultry, Soil and Plant Nutrition, Meat Sciences, Marketing for Farmers’ Markets, Fruits and Vegetable Production, Sourdough Bread, and the Art of Sausage Making with a Breakfast Sandwich on the Homestead.

Youth ages 5 and up – We have some great activities scheduled for you while your parents are learning! Join us for some fun activities, hands-on learning, and show and tell.

Registration includes lunch. Please email Lucy Ellington with any specific food or accommodation requests by Monday, May 12, 2025. 8:30 registration, program from 9-4PM.
